The Kaya ****Hotel in Savoie
Located in the Vallée des Belleville, the most authentic of the 3 Vallées in Savoie, the Kaya **** Chalet Hotel has been shaking up the codes of winter sports since late 2006. The first design hotel in the 3 Vallées, it introduces a new interpretation of the mountains, roomier and more comfortable, more urban and trendy, a complete break from the traditional interiors one is used to finding in most French ski resorts.
From $ 1179.00*

Nestled in the Reberty section of Menuires (alt. 1850 m), the Kaya hotel has an incomparable exposure to the slopes and offers a skis-on access to the 3 Vallées skiable area, the largest in the world with 600 Km of slopes including Courchevel, Méribel, Les Menuires and Val Thorens resorts. Smiles galore, attentive hospitality and the art of receiving are combined to turn
a stay at the Kaya into a succession of moments of pure bliss, in a cosy, relaxed atmosphere, in perfect osmosis with the exceptional mountain environment.

Inside the wood-clad chalet, this hotel displays a design style which is a complete break with traditional mountain hotels. The elegance is highlighted by a mix of sophisticated natural materials including wool, wood, slate, linen and glass. These are finely worked into a contemporary atmosphere and combined with warm, muted colours (tones of gray, chocolate, anis, mandarin, and raspberry), and wood essences and shades ranging from teak to oak and from white to ebony.
The 50 rooms and the Junior, Family or Prestige suites also give more than their due to the alliance of design and nature. Natural materials – wool, wood, linen, and glass are reinterpreted in contemporary creations marked by purity and softness.
The lay out and furnishings vary from room to room making each one unique. The picture windows let the light stream into the warm, modern rooms.
All rooms feature high-tech equipment such as LCD screens, satellite television, and CD and DVD players. Each room has a balcony overlooking the slopes, ideal for checking on snow conditions right from your bed, a telephone, a safe, a mini-bar and a private bathroom. The bathrooms are luminous and mineral: the snowy whiteness of the sinks, tubs and showers (Vero et Daro by Philippe Starck for Duravit) contrasts with the dark stone used on the floors and walls.

An inspired cuisine
Open for lunch on the ski slopes with a traditional menu highlighting local Savoyard products, in the evening, the restaurant features avant-garde cuisine for epicurean skiers. David Archinard, the restaurant’s young chef, revisits traditional recipes with creativity and imagination. He used to be the sous chef at Michel Rostang and is chef at the Bailli de Suffren**** in Rayol-Canadel during the summer. He proposes a truly savoury cuisine, where one can taste the influence of his native Drôme region.
Streamlined decor
At the restaurant, the atmosphere is warm and cosy with gray- and mandarin-coloured mohair wool curtains drawn across the large windows overlooking the snow. Exclusive creations, the tables and chairs in light-coloured oak by Ethnicraft make a relaxing duo, contrasted by the darker colours of the aged teak furniture, like, for example, the superb central table around which life is organised. Dressed with chocolate coloured tablecloths or gray velveteen placemats, the tables are set with Guy Degrenne Smoos collection round white plates, Modulo coffee sets with alternating chocolate, taupe and anthracite gray tints, Aloa flatware and Pure cristal glassware.
L’Ephémère
The evening menu, l’Ephémère, changes daily.
A few gourmet teasers:
- Heirloom vegetables emulsion and truffle pesto, soft-boiled egg and vitelotte potato crisps.
- Iberian style Veal filet mignon, wok sautéed Alpine vegetables, hot carotene and coriander jus.
- Chocolate! Chocolate cake rolled like a Havana cigar, served with cognac and “match” biscuit!
The restaurant, 120 person capacity. Half-board (breakfast and dinner).
Quick lunch menu.
